Businesses Hiring in the UK for Increased Consumer Spending

Businesses in the United Kingdom are getting ready for increased spending by British consumers this summer by hiring new workers. Optimism among service sector employers in the UK is the highest since 2004 and companies have been busy hiring workers for retail, restaurants and hotels. Business activity in the UK grew at its most rapid pace in seven months and the Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) climbed in March to 56.6 (50.0 and above indicates economic growth).
